Quilting Services Available at this time:
Pantograph: Choose a single edge-to-edge pattern from our list. This is a continuous
pattern, which covers the quilt top.
We have many patterns from which to choose.
Stipple (Meandering): This is a curving continuous pattern over the entire quilt top.
This pattern adds texture and is well suited for busy fabrics and patterns
that would hide more intricate quilting designs. Size of stipple can be varied.
Basting: For the hand quilter or home machine quilter, this service is a set of parallel lines throughout the quilt. Basting stitches are easily removed after quilting.
Available Battings - $5.50 per yard and up
Quilters Dream Cotton: Excellent thin cotton batting. Available in white and natural. Also available in 121" width.
Simplicity "Bond Tight": Excellent polyester batting. This batting is thin however, will give you slightly more loft than the cotton.
Threads: We use "A & E" cotton-covered polyester. This is a 3-ply thread designed for commercial long arm machines. We have a choice of many colors. You may specify a color or we can use our judgment.
Wide Backing Fabrics: are available in various colors and patterns. Call for availability and prices.
Quilt Preparation
Quilt Top:
Your top should be pressed with all seams flat. Fold carefully and place into a pillowcase or proper mailing container. Be sure to adequately insure your top.
Do not baste, pin or tack the quilt & backing together. Indicate top of quilt with a safety pin.
Indicate the pattern direction - lengthwise or crosswise on the quilt.
Be aware that fullness and puckers, which have been pieced in, cannot be "quilted out". We will ease them in as well as we can.
Clip all the threads on your quilt top. Stray threads will show through lighter fabrics.
Please stay-stitch ¼" around all edges if your quilt has bias
edges.
Backing:
Selvage edges should be removed.
Backing should be pressed. If your back is seamed, seams should be pressed open.
Backing should be at least 6" larger than the quilt top.
Make sure the quilt top and backing are square.
Be sure to specify seam direction and mark top with a safety pin if necessary.
